主持和参与国家自然基金项目、国家科技支撑项目、四川省科技支撑项目、四川省自然科学基金项目等课题10余项；主要进行3个方面的研究：（1）家禽营养与饲料高效利用；（2）矿物元素营养与分子生化研究；（3）饲料原料的安全性和有效性评估。
