Position:Technical Service Manager (TSM)

Reports To:Regional Director, Nutrition and Technical Sales (RTS)

General purpose:- Be the key technical contact for customers in the respective market and actively manage
customer interface by developing and improving multi-level contacts
- Support and enable national sales team to execute successful Value Selling, i.e.
o Working to position HN as a strategic resource for customers
o Establishing sustainable relationships with customers´ decision makers
o Generating value for both customers and HN by researching and applying tailored
solutions to meet customers´ commercial and technical needs
o Managing focus accounts for growth and profitability
- Initiate and support national sales teams in technical service projects and marketing
campaigns
- Coaching and training of local/national sales team in application of technical services
and nutritional and technical trends in the industry to continuously improve the overall
technical competency of HN in the market
- Validate commercial market size estimations and predictions from a technical point of
view
- Provide input and feedback on all technical issues to RTS to support both regional and
global steering
Principal tasks:- Improve customer satisfaction and loyalty to ensure sustainable business relations
- Execute Value Selling in close coordination with the National Sales Manager (NSM)
- Transfer of global HN strategies and budgets into actions for service projects in the region
- Champion in nutritional skills and HN service tool applications for the country
- Support NSM in budgeting and management of resources to achieve sales targets
- Generating, evaluating and reporting of market and competitive information to ensure
competitive advantage
- Support high quality and complete data input to ensure a proper market and account
management
- Technical training of national sales team to constantly improve technical competence
- Continuously transfer technical information and knowledge to local sales teams, thus
improving the overall technical competence of HN
- Contribution to service and product innovation
- Support of R&D projects with research institutes and customers
- Identification of service needs for budgeting to ensure a proper allocation of service
resources
- Continuously research customer needs in the field of technical services and product
application and propose measures to improve customer satisfaction, process performance
and profitability
- Systematically screen market for new ideas fitting HN´s product and services portfolio
Nature and Scope:The incumbent will interact with nutritionists, owners, vice-presidents, production managers,
veterinarians and others within companies that may purchase Evonik-Degussa products to
inform them of Evonik-Degussa’s benefit of value-added service. The incumbent will also
interact closely with the RTS and Evonik-Degussa in Germany to exchange technical
information. Therefore, good interpersonal as well as written and oral skills are required.
Reporting (minimum requirements):- Weekly travel plans and report to RTS
- Monthly activities report in English to RTS
- Customer visit reports to FA-portal (or responsible sales) including data
collection/information retrieval from customers
Competence and Educational Background:The incumbent has responsibility for technical support in the Asia South region. Due to the
complexity of the problems and opportunities associated animal production in this region, this
position requires a Ph.D. degree in animal/poultry/aqua nutrition or feed technology. A
detailed knowledge of amino acid nutrition is desired. Proven technical writing and
presentation skills are also required.
Place of employment and travel:This position will be based in Singapore, but will require 50% regional and 5% international travel.
